History of Tibet
The Tibetan history is begun with the presence of Lord Buddha around 1063 BC, with the newly advent of Bon religion in Tibet. According to Bonpo sources there were eighteen Shangshung kings who ruled Tibet before King Nyatri Tsenpo. Tibet was not set as its name before its unification. With the unification of Tibet by Songtsan Gampo in the 17th century it came into the presence officially as a Tibet. The government of the Dalai Lama a line of Tibetan spiritual leaders nominally ruled a large portion of the Tibetan region at various times from the 1640s until its incorporation into the PRC in the 1950s. During this period, the Tibetan administration was subordinate to the Chinese empire of the Quing dynasty. As a measure of the power that regents must have wielded, it is important to note that only three of the fourteen Dalai Lamas have actually ruled Tibet;from 1751. In the history of Tibet, it has been an independent country divided into different kingdoms, and bacome a part of China for a certain periods of time. Today it is part of the people’s Republic of China, and it has became a matter of much debate and disagree, due to various entites and factors regarding for equal right and authority for Tibetan people.
People of Tibet
A sacred land, the Tibet is the dwelling place of Tibetans. Others nationalities also live in Tibet producing barely, wheat, peas and rapeseed, etc. Most of the Tibetans keep their hair long, later on due to the Chinese influence; some men do crop their hair short. Tibetan men and women wear thick long dresses. The men wear a shorter version with pants underneath. Wearing the clothes varies between regions. Most of the Tibetan are Buddhist and worship and circumambulate around temples, shrines and other holy places based on their beliefs and knowledge. They have created brilliant arts and crafts like Thanka, murals, sculptures, Tibetan knives, Tibetan carpets, costumes, their own opera, calendar, medicine, etc. Yak butter tea and unique Tibetan dress are their specialty.
